Monday was the day we had to say goodbye to Chris. It was a really hard goodbye. The 3 older kids were having a really hard time. It just broke my heart to see them crying and upset. It is hard for me but so much harder on the kids. They only understand to an extend. We left the house around 10:45am and then we took Chris to his hanger to get stuff there and hung around until about 12:30 and then we left to go home and take the dog out and get lunch. Chris got on a bus during that time and they took him over to a gym near the airfield. We got back to the gym around 2. We ate lunch and then played some games. It was really nice to just spend some time as a family there and play games and relax. Around 4:45 we said our goodbyes then we went outside where all the soldiers walked by us. The crowd clapped and cried and then they boarded buses for the airport. We are all so thankful to him and all the rest of the soldiers that fight for our freedom and protect our country and help others. We will miss him so much but it is really only a short time in the eternal perspective.
