We rushed home from the lake and got ready to go to my brother's neighborhood for a 4th of July block party. They have been doing this party for several years. It is huge. There was well over 100 people there. They even had the news there and they made it on the 11pm news. All those that live in the neighborhood donate the things they can. The neighborhood provided the meat and then all those that attend bring a side dish to share. They had an obsacle course along with a DJ they had hired and of course you can't have 4th of July without fireworks. It was really nice because they had patriotic music playing during the fireworks. I couldn't help but think of Chris alone this 4th of July. My eyes watered up and I felt an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for those who have sacraficed for our freedoms and for those who are still serving our nation. How blessed we are to live in this great nation! Thank you to those who serve especially my sweet husband!
